Seahawks get a huge boost on offense by trading for Texans OT Duane Brown

The Seattle Seahawks have needed help on the offensive line for a while and made a big move to address that need Monday by trading for three-time Houston Texans Pro Bowl offensive tackle Duane Brown, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The trade was supposed to send cornerback Jeremy Lane to Houston, but he failed his physical. Instead, the Texans will get a 2018 third-round pick and a 2019 second-round pick, while the Seahawks will receive a 2018 fifth-round pick:

Brown will presumably make life much easier for the Seahawks offense and can immediately help a team that has big flaws up front, but is still 5-2 and very much in the NFC playoff picture.

Grant is averaging 9.0 points, 6.6 assists and 2.0 turnovers in 30.6 minutes per game. Dunn made his Bulls debut on Saturday in a 101-69 blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder and had five points, three assists and four turnovers in 22 minutes.

Dunn also had three steals, a sign of his aggressive mentality on defense.

“Kris is a very good player,” Grant told The Chicago Tribune. “I think that pushes us both to be better players.”

Pete Carroll says RB Chris Carson suffered broken leg

Seahawks starting running back Chris Carson suffered a broken leg as well as high ankle sprain Sunday night against the Colts, coach Pete Carroll said Monday.

“Last night when they did the initial X-rays his ankle was fine,” Carroll said on ESPN 710 Seattle, via the Seattle Times. “He’s got a fracture that’s way up just below his knee. It’s not a displaced one and all that, but because of the torque of the way it happened it was not in the area they were focused on, so I told the team he didn’t have a broken leg and everybody was excited about that for him. But he does. … It was not in his ankle, it was in his upper leg. We don’t know that means yet.”

When police discovered the vehicle, it had been abandoned. Boyd reportedly told police two days after the wreck someone else was driving his car and he was not in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
